Richard Stuebi

Richard Stuebi joined National Grid in May 2015 as Vice President of US Strategy and Group Technology.  With 30 years of diverse experience in the energy sector, he is responsible for managing National Grid’s activities in both the US and the UK to pursue opportunities associated with emerging energy technologies and innovative business models.
 
Before joining National Grid, Mr. Stuebi was one of the leading figures in the Ohio energy and environmental technology community.  He served as President & CEO of MAR Systems, a Cleveland-based start-up water treatment technology venture, and before that Managing Director of Early Stage Partners, a Midwest-focused venture capital firm.  From 2006 to 2010, he was also a Fellow at the Cleveland Foundation, where he served to encourage greater activity in advanced energy technologies as a regional economic development engine.  
 
Since 1999, Mr. Stuebi has been a leader in the energy technology arena, when he founded NextWave Energy to work with clients developing new energy technologies, including assisting in capital formation and serving in interim executive positions for early-stage companies.  
 
Earlier in his career, Mr. Stuebi was a Senior Vice President of Business Development for Louis Dreyfus Energy, and previously a consultant in the energy practices of McKinsey & Co. and ICF, primarily focusing on utility strategy, economics and regulation.
 
Mr. Stuebi received a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from MIT, and a Master’s degree in Economics from Stanford University.
