Energy Storage 101: Technology and Applications

Room: 207 AB
Date: Monday, April 25, 2016
Time: 1:00PM - 3:00PM EDT

A solid foundation for understanding the dynamics of energy storage technology and how it is being deployed on the grid. This workshop will provide participants with the basics about energy storage: including its history in the energy industry; the services it provides to users; and the benefits it can bring to generation, transmission, distribution, micro-grid, and off-grid applications.

Participants will also be taken through the different categories of energy and electricity storage along with associated technologies.  Finally, attendees will be provided a simple description of how the electric power grid works; and then led through a basic discussion on policy, cost, and the technical challenges facing the wider use of energy storage, and what can be done to address these issues.

Please note that this workshop must be registered for separately and an additional fee will apply.
